All kinds of universities are supported and controlled by the University Grants Commission (UGC). There are 50 universities in India that provide education and research facilities to students. These universities have been established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (No. 25 of 2009). The University Grants Commission (UGC) has declared these institutions as “Institutions Deemed to be Universities” on 12th April 2016.
